Hey,
I’m Rachel Sutton-Heisey. I’m a mother of two girls, a longtime researcher, and the founder of Wonderkin Workshop.
Before creating Wonderkin, I spent over a decade in survey research, designing studies and listening closely to people’s experiences. At its heart, my work has always been about listening. While my job was rewarding, I know firsthand how stressful it can be to be a working mother. The mental load. The noise. The constant feeling that you’re supposed to be doing more, all while holding together work and home and everything in between.
It’s easy to feel like you’re falling short.
But the moments that have mattered most in my own family haven’t been elaborate or perfectly planned. They’ve been small and quiet. The moments when my kids ask a question, when they follow a bit of curiosity, or try again after something doesn’t work – these are the times when I’ve been the most proud and fulfilled as a parent.
Wonderkin Workshop was born from the intersection of these two parts of me:
the researcher who understands how powerful thoughtful environments can be for growth, and the mother who believes deeply that children flourish when caregivers feel supported and not pressured. Often, you already have the tools you need. Sometimes it starts with simply saying, “I wonder…”
My hope is to nurture wonder, resilience, creativity, and connection and to help caregivers trust that they are already enough.
